Tiffany Williamson was born in South Carolina. In 1992, she obtained her bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary, which is located in Williamsburg, Virginia. In 1996, she completed her master's degree which she obtained from the University of South Carolina. She then studied at the Columbia Law School in New York to obtain her juris doctor, which she was able to receive in 1999. Soon thereafter, she worked for Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York for two years until she was moved by the law firm to its office in London, England. There was also a point in her life when she studied at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and at the National Chengchi University in Taiwan. With such educational background, there is no denying that a person like Tiffany Williamson will succeed professionally.
Tiffany Williamson continues her profession as a corporate lawyer despite being bitten by the poker bug. With all the money that her profession has been providing her, we don't see the reason why she still wants to play professional poker. It seems as if she is not scared of the fact that her money might all be gone because of a risky game such as poker.
But it may also be true that since Tiffany Williamson's profession as a corporate lawyer has been providing her more than enough money, she has already become comfortable with money that she does not get scared to lose some or most of it. It does seem like Tiffany Williamson is an aggressive kind of person. Even when she is at the poker table, she just projects such an aggressive behavior, which has been making her successful as a female poker professional.
In 2004, Tiffany Williamson exerted her effort in learning how to play the No Limit Hold'em game. She studied playing techniques, strategies, and styles that were necessary, most especially when facing opponents at poker tables. She was determined to gain the winning edge even before she participated in major events.
In July 2005, Tiffany Williamson ended up as the fifteenth placer in the championship game of No Limit Hold'em that formed part of the 36th Annual World Series of Poker. She received US$400,000 as cash prize. To some, such achievement may be ordinary. But for someone who only learned how to play the game a year before the championship, it was considered a major accomplishment. What made it more admirable was the fact that this female poker professional qualified for the championship through winning the preliminary game on the Internet. Most of her opponents qualified through live events.
Tiffany Williamson proved her stellar abilities once again in 2006 when she won first prize at the Orleans Open. In 2007, this female poker professional also cashed in the money in an event held during the Asia Pacific Poker Tour.
This female poker professional is also determined to continue playing poker despite being busy as a corporate lawyer in London.
